Not yet. I'm still herding her on one side of the house and Ryu on the other. They have gotten to the point where Ryu can come up to the barricade, look through the mesh screen at Chloe and she won't growl. This morning, they were even napping nearly 3 feet from each other. Ryu is pretty non-chalant about it. He just whimpers because Chloe is in here with me and he's out in the living room. So, I'll go out and play with him every hour for about 10 minutes and I make sure to be in Chloe's sight. I think she'll soon learn what playing means.
However, another interesting event happened just now. I left Chloe inside her barricade and took Ryu outside for some fetch. When he got bored and wanted to dig, I came back inside to find that Chloe wrangled her way onto Ryu's side (basically pushed the accordion style wall to the side), stole his dental chew and was trying to get back on her side before I caught her!
I tell ya, if anyone is deciding on whether to get two Shibas, foster first!!!! It's like birth control, only for doggies.
Ah yes, the chew stealing game. Miso and Sake could have five dental chews on the floor but yet they fight and wrestle over just ONE! It's insane. But they are Shiba's after all. Once they can play together it is MUCH easier...I actually feel like Miso doesn't need me to play anymore and get REALLY excited when he brings a toy to me because now he just plays with Sake.
Just remember you guys are making a HUGE impact on this dogs life for the BETTER! I say it once again...YAY for Pam Tim and Ryu! (and their housemates!)
hehe I'm sure I'll feel neglected when they can play together too. I do have to say, Ryu is taking this much better than I thought. He just seems more curious than territorial. It's this little feisty gal who doesn't want him around lol
It's only been 3 days so we have plenty of time to work on their friendship. The only thing now is to get her to stop following me every time I take a step around my office
And keep in mind, too, that she might be carrying any number of parasites or icky things that is best not to expose Ryu to until she's been cleared and vetted. This is a good way to introduce them to one another structurally. Stick it out!
Chloe - "Obviously I have fooled the humans with my sweet nature and cuddly exterior. No one suspects me for the ninja I am, but the urge to act out is too strong. The female will never know as long as I am as quick and silent as the dragon. The chew bone will be mine."
Sorry, I've watched movies like Hero one too many times!
Miss Chloe is doing well. She's much more confident today - she is dying to be in the same room with Ryu. I started calling her "Bulldozer" today. She'll stick her tiny nose in the middle of the barricade and push with all her might until the barricade falls down! She sure has some strength for 22 lbs
Is it bad that I'm proud she has enough courage to jump up on the couch now? hehe Her new family is going to hate me
She's getting better on the leash. She still flops onto her back and tries to rub her harness off but less often than before
Thanks! It's called Pink Paisley but I don't know if I'm going to keep it.... It's kind of too light for pink but not quite light enough for white. Weird shade of pink

They have night vision goggles right?!?!?!?
Oh, but then he might get peed on.
Snf
Has she gotten to interact with Ryu at all?

Here's your daily dose of Chloe:
Uh Oh! She stole Ryu's spot!
As for the jumping on the couch, I say let her forever home deal with that. :-)
It stays!
