It's good to know she's doing better. Any news on if the surgery will be needed or not?

We will not know if she needs surgery until the sling is off in 2 weeks. Hopefully she will not.

Just wanted to let you know that Huku and I are hoping for nothing but the best for Kaia. I REALLY hope that she will be able to avoid surgery...

Hey thanx all! She is at the vet now getting her sling re-wrapped... She chewed it off last night. The doglegs version is on order and will hopefully make it no later than Monday.

Stephen: Thanx to you and Huku, I hope you guys are well! Give some love to Huku for us. :o)

My hips hurt just from reading about it... I can't even imagine what she's going through. Poor girl. I'm sending relaxation/healing/loving vibes from here. Apparently they worked for Rakka, so hopefully they'll work for Kaia.

OMG.....I hope she heals up! It is not at all uncommon for this to happen. I recently went to a seminar about therapy and rehabilitation for agility dogs. You know the majority of people had dogs with injuries not from agility but actual accidents from home furniture. Believe it or not one woman actually decided cut the legs off her couches.

Hummm....maybe you can place a padded bench on the back side of the couch so there is something behind it to catch the fall. Also if a dog lands on a hard surface such as tile with concrete slab under it there is no buffer so it really does on number on the dogs limbs.

We have the same problem here with the floors. I have padded area rugs by the couches.

"Believe it or not one woman actually decided cut the legs off her couches." Wow, I thought that sentence was going to go in a totally different direction. Thank god it ended in "couches".

    Oh my...poor dear Kaia.

Yeah, I'm also hoping for the non-surgery route...rooting for nature to take its course and HEAL!

I will keep Miss Kaia in my thoughts.
