We have finally chosen a name to call her...She shall henceforth be known as 'Miyu' (Pronounce me-you, like me & you). Now to figure out what it means, since I've found like 50 million meanings, and I still have to figure out a registered name if I choose to change it from what Peggy wanted it to be (O'Ikon HideHarume Go, after Sweety her grandma).
Darn it! My love of dogs (Specifically, NK and other Spitz-types) is growing even more with the photos of these really cute dogs. Shikoku puppies remind me of Shibas that remind me of Akita puppies. Ah, connections.
@Crimson02 LoL Jesse, she is such a bear...Last I checked at the vet last Saturday she was 19lbs, which put her at the same weight as Tetsu. She feels heavier now, will have to take her to Petsmart (since they have a scale) this coming weekend to see if she gained.
So I was cleaning the kitchen a found a jar of mostly empty peanut butter. I decided to let the pups have a go at it for as long as it held their attention. Each one got their turn at the jar, starting with Miyu and ending with Tikaani. What was interesting was that Tetsu and Tikaani had figured out a way to get to the PB at the bottom of the jar by inserting just their bottom jaw. By the time they were done with the jar, it was completely cleaned and ready for the recycle trash.
Being that it's pretty much the middle of winter, it's been too cold to safely let Tikaani play in a bucket full of water (even though he would like to). For now here is an older pic of him using the bucket at the dog park while drinking out of a bowl: http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv196/chlotho/Picture027-1.jpg
Looks like they had a great time! I am a little jealous of the snow... (Even though I would much MUCH rather it be Spring. But if it is going to be cold, it might as well snow!)
@sunyata Casey, even though the snow is pretty and all, there's so much of it and I just want it to be Spring. Personally I would rather it cold and no snow so that way I can at least make it to the car without soaked feet or slipping on ice.
@Kadmos I feel that beauty is subjective, what's beautiful to me can be ugly to you. To me, they look nothing like wolves (though I can't tell you how many times people have asked if Tikaani is a wolf-dog mix) and that their beauty goes beyond how they look. The way they move, sound, feel, act are all parts of what makes these spitz breeds beautiful to me. To me the graceful, fluid way Tikaani runs, the way that Miyu is such a spaz and the way Tetsu pounces on a fallen snowball in a field of snow is what's truly beautiful
@Calia - Beth, that was a beautiful description as to why you think your dogs are beautiful. Mine goes something kind of like that too...
And for the ice (which we have had plenty of this year), get yourself some YakTrax. They are like snow chains for your boots. After I fell in December, I got a pair and have been slip free since!
