  • @tjbart17 - Tara, Nola just got her ThunderShirt in today... I wrote up a little review (I am really bad at those)... Hopefully it will help out Koda not only with this issue but his car anxiety as well.

And I am a little jealous of that massage! Hope it helps ease some of the tension. :)
  • So glad Koda is doing better! Hope the good news keeps coming :)
  • I'm glad Koda is doing better and glad your doing good too. =)

I hate getting bruises got one when my dad threw a plate at me and another time when I fell on ice. =\

I bet that message will feel good.
  • Just a little update. Koda and I are both doing better.

I had my work annual party Friday evening and Koda went to my parent's house. I was able to pick him and Mei up that night and she went to spend some time with us. It's funny, I think my mom forgets that she lived here. She is always so nervous when I take her. lol. She just loves her little girl and misses her when she's gone.

The kids had a blast. It is always like a slumber party over here when Mei comes over. They both fight sleep and play until I make them go to bed. I put Mei in Koda's crate that he never uses and she started crying, so both her and Koda slept in the crate together. He has a huge crate. In the morning, I could hear Koda cleaning Mei.

I took both dogs out on an off leash romp in the hills far from cars. They did great. I'm always impressed with Mei's recall. She can be chasing a squirrel and come right back to me. She did start to climb a tree after something. She is always on the hunt.

We went back to the house for some rest then headed out to the park before I brought her home. Again, both did great. Koda loves having another dog in the house.

Yesterday was a good day too. No walks around the neighborhood yet, but we met up with a bunch of my friends and their dogs at the park. We also got to meet my best friend's new baby boy, Luca. Koda was very protective of Luca and Elaine. He kept body bumping other dogs away from them. Too cute.

Today I'm at home sick. On top of all of this, I got an infection in my salavatory gland in my right cheek. I look like a chipmunk and had to get prescribed some evil antibiotics that make me sick as all heck. But I still took him out this morning for a very short hike and he's doing fine.

It has been a very good past three days!
  • "Koda loves having another dog in the house."

Sounds like you should get Chibi :-p

    Jesse
  • Chibi! Chibi! Chibi! haha, glad to hear things on the mend.
  • My concern with Chibi would be little Miss Mei not Koda. He would love her. They are probably a lot alike from what I've seen. He would see her as his new little toy that brings him much joy.

Mei might love her. She loves Koda that's forsure. She met another Kai a couple months ago and hit it off with him right away. She somehow knew they were alike, and took to him right away. They all have the same playstyle.

My concerns are never with me, but I want to make sure I can provide THE BEST home for my dogs. They have a really blessed life, and I need to know that Chibi would be 200% happy here.

Seeing her climb the fence does get me excited about doing agility again. lololol. I have an AKC school two blocks away from my house.

I wish I could write off all the dog training I've paid for on my taxes. :-)
  • Glad to hear things are starting to get better Tara. I hope you get well soon, ironicaly I'm watching the chipmonks with my son...

Ask the training place is they are a non-profit, one club by me was and any money that was paid to them was considered a donation and a tax write-off. Btw, glad you and Koda are doing well:)

@Calia I do have some that I can write off, but you can't write it all off. It's the amount you paid minus the value of the services you receive. Usually this zeros itself out. I write a lot of tax letters for people/companies. It's part of my job at work.

@shishiinu LMAO I look like a chipmunk! It's so sad. I'm hybernating in the house right now.

Thank goodness Koda is so tired today. The Prince is taking a nap. At least I can clean until my next pill kicks in and I get sick again. I just noticed I have to take these pills for 10 days!!! This sucks.
  • Good to read that Koda is doing better, and that you are getting out and feeling better about everything. :o)
  • So glad that you are both doing much better!

But sorry about the Chipmunk disorder... Never any fun. :(
  • Glad to hear you and Koda are doing better :)
  • YAY! Such fantastic news. hope your cheek heals up quickly too!
