Ok so tonight I was able to get liquified soft foods into her without her pukeing. She seems to be doing much better then ever before. I got her laying down with a IV drip and got some meds into her without her throwing that up also. I truely think she is going to recover, good old fashion home ER.
Glad to hear that Hana is eating and not throwing up meds. Will continue to think positive thoughts.
When you get thru the crisis w/ Hana, it may be worthwhile to ask the vet if any of the other dogs could have been exposed to the rickittsia as well--and if they should be tested.
Wow! What a turn around! I'm so glad to hear the news is better, but sheesh, someone needs to get into serious trouble for that screw up. Almost getting a patient killed is not exactly what I call good veterinary practice.
I am with Dave, that definitely made my morning! I am so glad that she was able to keep some soft food down. Hopefully she will continue this trend and get better soon.
I am glad to hear she is starting to turn the corner. You try rubbing a little KARO syrup on her gums. It is absorbed quickly into the body that way. It will bring her blood sugar up and help her feel a little better. Always works for me when I have a sick dog.
So Hana hasn't vomited in over 24 hours, I got some liquified rice, soft dog food, and a bit of beef broth in her last night. She is nice and hydrated and has tons more energy.
I was putting away some of my hunting guns last night and as soon as Hana saw that she hightailed it to the front door. Although I would love to go out again, I think our duck season is done this year.
I'm so freak'n happy that she has made it this far. Thank you every one for all your kind words. Its the people on this forum and Hana's fight to survive that made every thing work out the way it did.
Oh man Gen, I got a tear in my eye visualizing Hana waiting by the door. After all she and you have been through in the last few days, she still wants to get out there. She's such a gem. And a big kudos to you for nursing her through this. Thanks for the update!
Seconding that tear that dlroberts shed. I get pretty misty every time I check up on this thread. I'm so happy that she is doing better. What a trooper. :'D
Ok so a little bit of a super positive up date. She finally is eating on her own and is super active as she has ever been. She is now doing a bit of barking, whining, chewing, and jumping. Its really crazy hw much she has improved. The way things are looking, she maybe back to hunting in no time. Now I just need to slowly get her pounds back.

I'm glad it's not cancer.
I'll pray Hana starts eating soon.
