Help me out with housetraining

  • oh one more thought, do they go to the door or let you know at all that you can tell that they need out. I have heard of people having success with putting bells on their door and the dog ringing them to let someone know he needs out.
  • I was feeling so smug about how glad I was to be beyond the puppy peeing. Then Oskar peed in the house (clearly marking behavior--he peed on the chair Toby likes to sleep in), and then Toby did too (but Toby was more puzzling--he peed in his room, A LOT, so he clearly had to go, but he'd just been out two hours before.....).

I'm hoping this behavior doesn't continue. And that's what I get for feeling all superior!
  • I was concerned Taka might have a UTI (which would explain the pee issues), so I got her tested and she is fine.

I have been able to get her out of the crate before she pees now tho - I did this by feeding her outside her crate, like right in front of it. This seems to have reinforced the "run out of the crate quickly" behavior... and that makes it easier to get her out in the AM now.

Kyuubi hasn't had a crate accident in a while! I hope I do not jinx myself by typing that out haha. I seem to jinx myself with him a lot. Kevin and I always go "yay he hasn't had an accident in his crate in 'x' days" then an hour or so later we have one.

Hopefully no jinxing this time! :]

Oh! I do hope I can take out the divider in the crate soon though. It makes so much noise at night when he moves around! He hits his legs up against the divider and the whole crate rumbles lol. Wakes me up a lot :(
  • Juno's in her "big den" now at night, so it might be time!
