Spiff! At first I didn't realize that the Hokka was biting the bear. *fail on my part* Unless it isn't, in which case that would be a double fail for me. Anyway, thank you for sharing the Hokkaido pic!
@Krisz She's a great looking pup! I'm glad to see them outside of Japan. I'm still debating between JA and Hokkaido for Ren's future little brother. Love the coloration that Yabu had I too would be eventually interested in one if you do breed a different color. I just see too many whites having skin allergies in the southern United States.
@cezieg : " too many whites having skin allergies" Hokkaido is a healthy breed, I don't know any problem... I bought Seta from a very famous breeder, he has been started the Hokka breeding in 1978! He has many whites and as I see in Hokkaido are many whites in the show ring.
@Krisz I'm not saying it's your dogs in particular of course!
Florida is a very harsh environment with a lot of plants and insects that cause allergies, even in dogs that don't have allergy problems as a breed. So I think it may just be something with dogs with light fur that causes them to be more sensitive to things down here. It's just something I noticed after working in veterinary clinics.
I've also just been wanting a black & tan colored dog since I already had a red Shiba
@Krisz Nothing specific, just more white dogs coming in for allergies than other colors. Seta has awesome movement, just watched her videos. She looks very fun!
@cezieg OK, this is interesting info about the white dogs!
@ABetty: yes, Yabu was my dog, but she has not offspring at my kennel, because I focused the shiba breeding... I had a decide: I sold Yabu to my friend and now all European Hokkaido breeders use Yabu's kids + grandkids :-)
But I love Hokkaido always... so I bought Seta :-)))

Looks neat, but I'd be scared if my dog did that. lol
Here is our "White Star" from Hokkaido/Japan: she is SETA!
B&T, red or brindle is colors I'd like.
white is nice too, but so hard to see them in the snow.
