  • Thank you.
@cecieg Yes, he eats raspberries directly from the bush and likes them very much. When you get your B&T hokkaido? :)
Haha that is too funny, maybe there are wild raspberry bushes in Oregon, and my future Hokka pup can have some :)

Shigeru is helping myself, @lindsayt, and @thegela get everything lined up to import puppies from a working Hokkaido kennel's litter in the Spring (some time around March-May hopefully!)

Some brindle Hokkaido photos can be found at this link. I was going to insert them, but they ended up showing up as huge pictures, so I decided to link them instead.

    Ooooh that sesame is astounding!

@cezeig I found some the other day. Most of them are the invasive blackberries but every now and then you'll find a raz bush. It was awesome.

  • Shiba & Hokkaido friendship!
Our 2 boys: Tobi + Maru and the stick :-)

  • Woooow I love that sesame! I thought it was a Shikoku as I scrolled past quickly, then had to back up haha.

@Losech We'll have to go hiking March and you and Conker can show Ren and I all of the Oregon secrets 8)
  • Beautiful! I love the brindle of course. I love brindle dogs. It's really neat how the breed has all the colours found in all the NK.

This thread is a problem for me. I already want too many dogs :oP
  • I'm pretty sure that is a Shikoku, not a Hokkaido
  • @brada1878 I thought so too, but I'm ninja browsing at work and don't have the time to scrutinize haha. The small ears and eyes were throwing me off in the second picture.
  • Looks like a Shikoku too me.
  • I like the red hokkaidos, and the red brindles. I dont really dig the white brindle there, BUT- if he was my dog, I'd just be glad I had a good dog and name him Kabanoki. "Birch tree" to go with Juno "Momiji" (red maple) and Matsu "Pine"...I think I will name all my nk after trees...
  • I added the what I thought was a sesame Hokkaido based on a Google translation of the text in the blog I linked. I removed the first image, but left the second in case it is a Hokkaido. If someone who understands Japanese better than I can wouldn't mind taking a look and confirming if the picture I left up is a Hokkaido or not, that would be great (maybe Shigeru? @TheWalrus ). I'll remove it if it is a Shikoku. I'm sorry about the mistake!
  • @WhoBitMe - LOL, it's okay. I almost posted a picture of what I thought was a brindle Kishu, but then I realized that the blog was saying that the brindle Hokka was the same size as a friend's Kishu. Google gave me the picture because it had the terms I was looking for and I was just blundering through Japanese.

I love the silvery brindles on the Hokka.

@WhoBitMe - No big deal. I didn't mean to make you feel as if you did something wrong. No worries.

ETA: I was just sharing my personal opinion. I could be wrong, that happens a lot. ;)
  • I checked the blog. The post is about the sesame female in the picture @whobitme posted. She is a Hokkaido, but everyone thinks she is a Shikoku, and that's what the post is talking about.
  • WOW. So she is a Hokkaido. Crazy.
  • That's a nice quality of sesame. And Oregon has tons of raspberries. Your Hokkaido can keep the bears away while you pick em ;)
  • Our 2 white treasures :
  • I love the video of Seta and Maruto so cute and happy! Such beautiful Ainu dogs. :)

The rooster crowing sounds like my far off neighbor they have chickens and I hear them every so often. hehe

@TheWalrus Wow it IS a Hokka?! That dog is beautiful! I wouldn't mind finding it's breeder and importing one some day. Would you mind linking the blog?
Edit: Never mind, saw the blog link

@Krisz Aww you have such happy Hokkas :) They're amazing. I really hope that one of their puppies do find their way here to the US!
  • OH! What a cutie!! <3
  • awesome sesame hokkaido!! loooove her! :)
  • @TheWalrus Thanks for looking into that. :)

@cezieg The link for the blog should be right under the picture in my other post.

@Krisz Ah, Maru is too adorable. And of course Seta is lovely, as always.

  • Oh, I like so many of those dogs! Thanks for sharing. :) I'm really drawn to some of those reds, the sesame, and the sparse brindle. I agree, I need more money, too.
  • Man I'm absolutely taken by the B&Ts, with the sesame being a close second. It's really neat to see such a huge color variation.
  • Ohhh I love that black and tan one. Looks epic. I really like the first one too. ahhh they all look like devils tho. After Yezo, all I can see is "devil.. devil... punk... devil...super devil.. "
  • I agree...the sesame and the b&t are absolutely beautiful...I actually love them ALL. They just look like such handsome strong dogs.
