I know its coming up so fast! I didnt realize that it is already the 18th!Surprised

I took today off to go to Petsmart and get some new toys and puppy rawhides for her. It seems like so long since I had a puppy! I feel like a new parent again! LOL.

Ewa - Its a beautiful morning here! Its going to be a sunny 75 today! But it looks like next week its supposed to be in the 50s here...boo.Frown I also received your email yesterday and I will be emailing you from my home email address in a little bit =)

Brad - I might have to go buy a new camera like you have so I can spam you guys with the pack in high definitionTongue out How was Kaia when you introduced her to new pups (Kona, Loa, and Lani)? Im sure Keira will do fine, but when there is a shiba diva you just never know...lol. When I introduced her to Kenji she did VERY well, but she was also like 4 months or so, but she seems to love every new dog she comes across so hopefully she will do well with Kangai.

Shandrew - Yes your Kiba does look like her, so does Roberts Kiba Wink Are white Shikas rare? It seems like the majority come in tan/seseme or black like Brads Ahi.

To everyone else - Thank you for your excitement! You guys are just as excited as I am!Laughing I cant wait to spam you with pictures, so be preparedKiss

    ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!!! AHHHHH!!!

I have been going crazy at the petstores around here trying to get everything for Kangai that she needs. I bought her some nylabones and some pink puppy toys, new bed, pen, food, ect. I had accidently left one of my petsmart bags on the floor, went in the other room, came back out  to find that all of the new toys were laying on the floor with Kiera and Kenji looking up and smiling thinking that it was there birthday! LOL. So I had to take them away and hide them. Not like they need anymore, they have tons! Spoiled spoiled spoiled... =)

I was curious, does anyone know you can change a Poland Kennel Club (PKC) or any other breed imported for that matter, and change it to a UKC so she would be able to show in the US and breed with any other UKC Hokkaidos? (if there are any)

With Kuma (and this is Spain to Portugal, so it might be different there) I have to wait for Silvia to get the registration from the Spanish Canine Society, so I can sign it as the new owner and then re-register him in Spain, as my own, so then I can do it here. It's kind of messy...

lol - I don't think I've ever been as excited for someone else to get a pup! It happens a lot on this forum tho, I am always so stoked to hear about people getting their new pups and watching them grow.

Anyway - I'm stoked for you! I'll ask Jen about the registration thing, she handle all that (the brains behind the operation).

Thanks Brad before hand.Laughing I just now found Kenjis UKC litter registeration application and noticed I never turned it in yet! OOPS! Luckily he doesnt turn 1 until June so I can still turn it in. I guess I didnt before because he is already neutered so I cant show him or breed him, but he still should be registered.

Brad - who did you say Konas parents are? I also found his certificate of pedigree with all of the breeding pool on it and am interested to know how close Kenji and Kona are.

Thanks Leon - I was wondering that because that would suck to have to go all the way to Poland to show her or breed her, and with expenses for travel, that is just something I cannot do right now, however I should go some day since I am Polish! My maiden name is Ceranski, which is extremly polishTongue out Plus it would be a reason to go on vaca! Flights to Poland are NOT cheap though...wowie!

I did look on the UKC website and was suprised that Hokkaidos are on the list, as well as Kais and Shikokus.

    hi

    jamie, actually, I sent a hundred`s e-mail  to You :)

with the registration  - I see it so:

Polish Kennel Club belongs to FCI - one of the largest international kynologic society, which have only one partner-organisation in each country. But in the America You have another system, because You have many your own organisations. As I know FCI cooperates and recognised AKC pedigrees and dogs, and in all FCI - regional kennel clubs in many countries - when we import the dogs from US - we can register by us only dogs from AKC. It means I couldn`t register a dogs from UKC papers in my kennel club.

But, but, but...  it is no said, that You cannot register a dog with FCI pedigree in any other organisation in America. This regulation is up to the choosen american organisation. I don`t know UKC, so I think You should call or e-mail there and ask them if they are recognising the FCI papers. If - they do, You can make it.

Our organisation doest`t tell the buyer where he must to register the dog :)  It only says it to us - from which organisation we can import the dog, if the kennel club don`t belong to FCI. So it is Your choise, but at first You have to ask about FCI pedigrees in UKC. I know only that in AKC there is no problem with it.

When You get the export pedigree from me,  You can register a dog, where You want. Of course, if Your organisation recognises the FCI pedigrees.

But, when You think about the breeding in the future (and sending the puppies in to the world like me :) - choose the most known and most universal kennel club in America. If there will be the first register hokkaido (??), then maybe they will help You in promotion of the breed? So choose the best one, with the good dog shows and good organisators.

AKC is known in Europe, in Japan - I think - as well. And many countries cooperate with AKC in both ways (-in and ex).

You should do it earlier I would give You a national discount :P :))))

  • edited November -1
Yes Ewa, that is my maiden name! Do you know any Ceranski's there in Poland?
  • edited November -1

Yeah, there is a well known psychatrist called Ceranski in Poland  hihi

When we talk about family relationships on the line Poland-US, I have to tell, that two of my father`s brothers live since 1982 in NY

    So It`s a small world :]

Hey Jamie, I'm not sure why, but I get the feeling you're a little excited about something. Am I way off base here? ;-)
  • edited April 2008

You must read people really well! ;-)

I am SOO excited, but I am also I scared to talk to customs more than anything. I dont know why, its not like anything illegal is going on. I just dont want to have to get asked 500 questions about her until they can give her to me. I just want her to come home safe and sound :)

I just wanted to update you all on Kangai.

I got an sad email from Ewa today, stating that Kangai was playing a little too rough with the other dogs and one of them bit part of her ear off.Frown

Luckily she is doing just fine and I guess it will grow hair back, but unforuntly she will still have a little chunk missing thatwill never grow back. She also has a scar in between her eyes on her nose, which the hair will grow back. But because of the standards of showing dogs in US, I will probably never show her. However, within a few years I would still like to breed her.  Then maybe I could keep one of the pups and show him/her. Either way, I dont need to have a panel of judges tell me how beautiful and cool of a dog she is anyways.

Ewa did ask me if I wanted her to keep her, and be put in line for another one in a year or so but I have fallen in love with her too much, and regardless, she could be missing the whole ear and I would still love her the same. With that being said, I am going to keep her. In my eyes she is the most beautiful dog ever, next to Keira and all of yours of course.Laughing

Anyways, here are the new updated pictures that Ewa sent me today.

Awww, poor girl. That wasn't very nice of those other dogs. :-( She doesn't seem bothered by it which is the most important thing. You've got a great attitude, a little cosmetic thing like that wouldn't change a thing about her wonderful personality. In fact, I think it adds character! Chicks dig scars right? Oh wait, she is a chick. ;-)
  • edited November -1
Poor Girl!  She is still too adorable!  OMG! You're getting her this Saturday!!!  Its coming up so fast!!!  I can't imagine how excited you guys are!!!
