My cat is somewhere around 12-14lbs, is a polydactyl (literally looks like she has thumbs) and was never really a jumper anyways. It's great because she has never jumped onto the counter or kitchen table, no matter what tasty morsel is left there. I think though, when she was younger, my sister's never really liked her as she was the only cat out of all of ours that they had to interact with(mom gave us a choice of indoor only or outdoor only, I'm the only one who chose indoor and was accused of denying my cat freedom), so I have a feeling that one of them had kicked her down the stair when I wasn't home and may have caused some sort of injury to her.
The funny thing is is that Safyre will sleep in Tikaani's crate if she wants out of the room (he crate is right next to the door), but won't go in Tetsu's crate no matter how much I would try to persuade her (wanted to get a pic of her on Tetsu's bed). I don't think she likes that confined feeling, as the minute the door closes she meows wanting out.
Tetsu would probably sniff through the food and find the pieces that don't taste bad, leave, then come back later seeing if anything has changed.
I LOVE Tetsu and Tikaani. They are both so handsome. I am so surprised that two males get along so well, I was under the impression (clearly mistaken) that 2 males would never get along.
Just a video of the boys playing some tug with each other. Tikaani is so much bigger than Tetsu that he doesn't really have to pull, he can just sit there and hold and still give Tetsu a hard time. The sounds are a mix of the camera focusing and Tetsu play growling.
Even though I know how much Tikaani loves water, it still cracks me up every time I see pictures. :P
Oops. Forgot to watch the videos the first time around. Tetsu in the mulch is too funny!! Looks like it might be time to get a giant mound of mulch for your yard.
OK, a little update...Today is the 4th of July, and it's one of the few holidays where the cops don't arrest you for doing something illegal (fireworks are illegal in NY) unless you blow off a body part.
We decided to take the boys out to our favorite fireworks viewing spot and see how they handle all that loud noise. For the last 4 years, I've sat along the beach of a lake that is right next to my families house. It's the biggest lake on Long Island and it's the greatest for watching all the fireworks everyone is setting off. I'd have to say, the boys did pretty good with all the loud noises.
Actually, they found something else to do rather than being scared. I didn't know that at night all the frogs that live along the lake come out and just sit (or do whatever they do) on the beach. The boys were in a frenzy trying to catch every frog they saw, and luckily we kept them from grabbing any. Once we settled in a spot on the sand, the boys settled down as the frogs kept their distance.
We sat and watch the fireworks, a citronella candle lit behind us (which didn't do much good). We were visited by some cops who were making sure that we weren't blowing things up, who would check on us every few minutes. The boys settled down and kept an eye out for frogs, not giving any attention to the loud fireworks. I'm very proud with their lack of reaction, as I was expecting at least Tetsu to be somewhat scared.
Unfortunately, we were smart enough to forget the camera and a blanket, so we were bitten up and had soggy bottoms.
It's usually cause we have so much we want to bring or in a rush to get somewhere, than we forget the most important item on our list while counting what we do have.
Here's some more spam from a diffrent angle. Beth made a joke about that today, and it happened. I think we went a little nutty with the pics though. We took about 300 or so I think.
Some more spam of Tikaani in Tom's parents' pond. Was using their camera for these pics and video, so sorry for the poor video quality.
I love how the fish come up to him as if they expect him to give them food. At times (not shown in this video) we have even seen them pick at his legs and toes, reminds me of those pedicure fish that people pay for.

Clever little man ~
Tetsu even enjoyed playing in a puddle
And Tikaani was a water bucket fiend
At some point a truck came in to dump some mulch that the park is planning on spreading around and Tetsu just loved it.

Tetsu trying to get the unreachable bits of peanut butter

Katsu and Tetsu playing:
Tikaani multi-tasking, cooling off in the water bucket while drinking from a bowl:
And here's Katsu biting Tetsu's leg while Tikaani has her harness, way too funny:
And some video spam:
I love the TIkaani couch in the back
Mr. I want to go home, Teddy
moar funny pictures
Looks like a fun but exhausting day at the doggie park (both times).
There's so much great spammage of the dogs!
[btw - I love how Katsu was practicing a part from a circus act, lol <--- jumping over Tetsu]
*love* the PB + tetsu pic... lol!
Oh, and every time I see Tikaani in a water bucket I laugh out loud. TOO CUTE!!! (especially the multi-tasking one)
p.s. I think I love Tikaani. Such a personality on him. =0)
