    hey everyone!

thanks for keeping us in your thoughts! And thank you LJ for updating everyone!

Chloe and I are safe in Springfield. The roads got pretty nasty and I didn't feel comfortable driving in the dark. So, plan B is in effect. We're driving the rest of the way to Chicago tomorrow so I'll have another update for you all!

Chloe is doing fantastic. She is passed out on the bed next to me as I type, starting to snore actually :) I can't believe the snow out here!

Oh, the hotel has free 24-hr wireless :D I find this out after 3 attempts to pay $9.95, which ended up being for SSID at the neighboring hotel LOL

    Dave - So true lol.

Pam - Nice to see you online! Let me know if you need those wifi codes. It's 1 hour at a McDonalds. Stay safe, you could easily get stuck in Springfield with how great they are about clearing out the roads *rolls eyes*

Ooo nice, which one are you staying at?

Seriously! I thought maybe I was missing something but the roads are completely covered in snow! Made me REALLY nervous. We're just staying at the Holiday Inn here - first hotel I thought of that allows pets!

Thanks for the offer Rina! I think we'll be OK and I can always use my phone :)

Oh my goodness, good luck tomorrow driving the rest of the way! :0

Haha you're on the good side of town. And for future reference Red Roof Inn and Motel 6 allows animals too.

VERY good to know! I'm beginning to think we'll never travel without our pups again hehe :)

I'm glad you're doing well! Hopefully tomorrow will have smoother travels!

    And LaQuinta

Hotel Roberts also allows pets. We only have one location in the Atlanta suburbs though. ;-)

Glad you're safe and Chloe is enjoying herself!

(I'm typing this on my phone so bear with me)

The introduction went better than I could have dreamed! Chloe loaded the charm on and the PRH (potential rescue home) fell head over heels for her. I have no doubt that she will treat Chloe like the princess she is. Also, this is the calm, quiet atmosphere that Chloe needs to blossom into the happy Shiba hiding under that defensive wall. I am so happy to have matched these two who truly need each other! The adopter reminds me a lot of myself in that she is very loving and giving up Chloe is not an option no matter what the future holds.

Since I have to leave before the 24 hour waiting period ends tomorrow, Chloe is at a temporary foster home until she is adopted out. Part of me can't believe that I may not see her again. Part of me wants to cry but I am so incredibly excited for her that I can't help but be happy. I am quite the mess of emotion right now :)

That is so awesome Pam! Remember the first one is the hardest.
    Hang in there : )

Awww! That's really great to hear Pam!!!

    Much love! <3 ~

That is awesome news. Crying is acceptable.

    Hooray for Chloe!

Fantastic Pam!!!!!! We're going to miss Chloe and Ryu's giant crush on her, but you should be incredibly satisfied with what you've accomplished. You nurtured her into what she is today and because of that she's getting her perfect home.

Now be safe on your way home!

Bravo, Pam, bravo bravo! That first adoption feels a lot like you are PMS'ing, you are crying you are laughing you are sad you are smiling and its the perfect excuse for Ben and Jerry :))

Relax. Enjoy this experience, it is a worthwhile adventure.

Yay, I know its sad and hard, but think of what a great life Chloe is going to have.

    Congrats Pam!
With the holiday season, be proud you have accomplished and closed one of many chapters in Chloe's life with a happy ending just in time for her new owner to begin a new chapter with Chloe with the New Year!

Thanks guys! I finally checked into hotel #2 and got set up online. I've had the joy of speaking with (1) my husband who always calms me down and (2) LJ who helped me pass 20 minutes of potential bawling with lots of laughter and smiles. Thanks LJ!

When it comes down to it, I feel more happiness than sadness. I know that we couldn't give her the kind of home she needed and even though we will miss the Ryu/Chloe cuddles, I'm happy that she will have a new family during Christmas. I can only imagine how even more spoiled she will become!

To appease LJ's need for spam, I took a few pictures of Chloe on our trip.

The last night in Missouri - cuddling with Daddy:

    Inspecting the hotel bed:

    Look at all that snow!

All this traveling makes for a very sleepy Shiba....taking a nap as we wait in the parking lot:

Looking back, I didn't really take a lot of pictures! :(

WOW! Pam you make a great foster mother! From beginning to end! LJ your too kind!

Haha Actually I was telling the adopter that I am a HORRIBLE foster mom. I teach them that jumping up on the couch is OK, the master bed is ALL THEIRS and if they whine enough, "someone" will let them out of their crate. The new families will hate me! lol

Aww Pam im so happy for all of you. I cant imagine how torn you feel but she has transformed amazingly!
Im glad all are safe and LJ is WONDERFUL at keeping someone from crying (the secret is she cant handle people crying!). She has been on anti-sob duty for a while now.
    HUGS TO YOU ALL!

I had just gotten out of a meeting at church and was headed to the grocery store. I hadn't seen the post where she had left the adopter's place. I was dying for an update and couldn't wait until I got home, so I just had to dial Pam up. Pam cracks me up too, so I'm glad I could help.
