Sadie got adopted!!!! I'm so happy about this, she is so sweet. She had a rough run of kennel cough, and being stuck at the shelter for about 6 weeks+.

So glad she has gone home, I hope it's a great one.

    This guy makes me smile:

Here is what he looks like when some part of his body is touching the ground:

This is Mookie, he has been in a few times, this time I guess his owners are not taking him back. He is already adoptable.

I love how this dog looks. The little bit of white on the tip of the tail is great:

A really old bulldog that the owners said they could no longer afford:

A Yorkie taking a good sniff. You know someone paid good money for this guy before they dropped him off, he was a surrender:

The camera made this guy nervous, you can see a spot of drool dripping. I snapped a few quickly and got out of his way. RIP 09-11-2008

While I know these dogs are up for adoption and that breaks my heart, the pics you take always give me a lift - thanks!
  • edited November -1
I love the little guy with springs on his feet! It looks like he is 5 feet in the air. Anyone want to help me build a giant house to bring them all home to? Especially the camera shy guy.
  • edited November -1
    As usual....

LJ, I think what you said captures exactly how I feel when I see Brandon's pictures. I hadn't been able to put it to words. Nice!

13 years old, surrendered because they were "having a baby". He is the sweetest most docile dog ever:

    Brandon, thanks for the pics!

Ok. I'll just have to take them all.

I love the pom and the red pit! LOVE LOVE LOVE
  • edited November -1
That little Pom is sweet. I doubt he is even a year, I'm sure he will go fast. The red pit is up for adoption too, loves people of course.

That black Staffie is gorgeous!! Is it male or female? How old?
  • edited November -1
The black Staff was a female, she was picked up by her owners.

This guy was really shy, and nervous. He just wanted to be on my lap. So I had to lay on my back and take pictures just movign the camera around with my arm.

That first guy is awesome, I love him.

Did I tell you we have a Dogo Argentino at my shelter right now?
  • edited November -1
No you did not, how is he doing?

I have to say I also love the white boy with the tan mask. Those bat ears are the best.
  • edited November -1
That first one is a cutie!!
  • edited November -1
He isn't doing well. He is a little unstable (possible reason someone would just dump a rare dog I guess). He loves me, but barks ferociously at everyone else in the shelter (especially men in uniform)
    image
He tried to bite a cop 2 days ago so I am not very optimistic about his future. We also have a one eyed Dogo/pit mix that I named Nick Fury. I am dead set that someone awesome will get him if I don't sweep him up first.

Yay for Brandon shelter spam! I was just thinking it was about time for some more. :-)

That first guy is awesome! I love his ears and the raised lip in the first one! I also adore the pit running with the toy. :-)

    Great shots as usual!!!!
  • edited November -1
Best of luck with both of those dogs.
  • edited November -1
The first guy is very cute, but I'd take the second one, the brindle. (rare for me to go for brindle, but I like his expression). The black one is very good looking too.
  • edited November -1
I have a soft spot for the black one, I love black dogs!
  • edited November -1
I too have a soft spot for the black pitt <3 They all look wonderful, I wonder how people can let go of their dogs.

Some pictures from Sunday, the others were from last Thursday.

Same brindle pit as above, but a funny pic:

its just a tragedy, on Tuesday night, we had THREE surrenders from owners who lost their living situation. Its just awful... There was a 12 year old sweetheart of a standard schnauzer! You just don't give a dog like that up! It was really emotional.

    Great pics though!
  • edited November -1
Oh man, those last two are great! That's really sad that they lost their home. I don't know what I'd do if that happened to me. Probably trade in my car for an RV and live out of that so I could keep the dogs.
  • edited November -1
The 6th pic, right under bonded pair...OMG those eyes are going to kill me!!!!

More dogs from Sunday. It started to rain though, so I had to put the camera away early.

I love it when I get them with their tongues out:

    DCHS Dogs 10-05-08-5547

This guy was the fastest, craziest Yorkie I ever met. I got this one posed of him:

He usually looked like this though:
