  • Mr. Fujimoto speaks Spanish and Japanese. His son speaks Spanish, English, and Japanese. Great people.

  • Wow, beautiful Akitas. Who is that in your profile pic? I like that one too.

  • Leaving her to go to work in the morning is the hardest thing we have to do... :( (Image)
  • Awwww.... how cute. Kaeda is awesome!
  • Sorry I'm late. Happy Birthday! Koda looks big! It warms my heart to see how Koda is part of a happy family.
  • Just one more :). (Image)
  • Thank you all. Aki tells us that she wants to give you all lots of kisses.
  • It's been a while since we "show off" Aki with some updates. We sometimes still can't believe we are blessed with this wonderful girl. We are chasing "LOST" up to date with Aki on our bed most evenings now. (Image)
  • Our Aki doesn't bark at all. The only times I've heard her bark is to initiate play with other dogs using that high pitch tone.

  • LOL. That is awesome. So is squinty smile part of Shiba's charm?

  • We tried many diets, including RAW. The diet Aki's on for a long while is just Wellness Puppy Food for Large Breed. We have just switch to regular Wellness Puppy Food at 7month-old recently because Aki doesn't seem to be a Large Breed. We do cook…
  • Chrystal Cleary: "Believe your dog. Learn to read him and believe him. Then act as his advocate and partner." That means so much to me. Not an advice but more of lesson learned is: Read and research as much as you can, BUT keep an open m…
  • ZOMG, a Teddy Bear!
  • Congrats to a new addition to the family.
  • Thanks again, everyone. The love we share together is growing stronger everyday. Things that worry us is: 1) She pants a lot. I have no idea if it's normal or not. 2) She drools sometimes when she sleeps. I think we should bring her to the vet.
  • Fist of Furry (Image) Just a silly update.
  • Just watched the DVD last night. Pretty good movie overall. It has more Akita screentime than the original version. The message is different in both versions. Japanese version is more about responsibility to owning a pet (I guessing most Japanese…
  • The the word I use to describe that quality of that lens is "richness". Less expensive lenses might achieve the sharpness and saturation, but the richness of the 135mm f/2L is unbeatable. It makes every picture looks like a scene from HD…

  • Thanks for a great response. You answered all the questions very professionally. I think I'll get a short-zoom for daily uses in the range of 17-50 and a prime 85mm for those beautiful bokeh. I'm a sucker for wide angle shots. Thank you very much. …

  • Hey Nico, some more questions for an expert like you. 1) Do you use Zoom lenses? 2) Do you use 3rd party lenses? 3) If you can only have a ONE Lens setup, what would you pick? I bought a used Canon 20D from a friend. It's a consumer grade old DS…

  • What a great show. I wish we could be there. Thank you Jackburton and ayk for all the picture updates.
  • @Brad: When we first read about Akitas, we thought that Aki will grow up to be discrete with her friendliness towards strangers. Since we do not do any special training to instruct her otherwise, it's rather unreasonable to expect her to act differ…
  • Glad that you and Koda came out of it relatively safe. It might be not-PC to say it, but I'll do anything possible to protect my loved ones, human and dogs, including incapacitating other dogs or human. I think we have to have a plan in case we an…
  • Thanks Tara for sharing Koda's behavior. From what you've described, Koda has good manners, yet protective of the owner, and stand his ground when necessary. I think that's just perfect.
