Arashi is 4 years old, female and 33 pounds.

I feel like it's fake, looks like my dog's father also called kaiju. His owner has a different name and lives in California.
-
I guess I haven't had near this much bad luck. I guess ppl here are much more laid back. Dogs getting knocked over is pretty standard here. Some of the dogs are nervous coming in. There was one owner recently that wasn't watching his dog well he was…

Her 2 cycles were 7 months apart. Her last one was in March so in the next couple weeks should be fine I think? I really appreciate the advice. :) thank you.
-
Thank you I will look into the sedation then, I much rather they be accurate. Arashi is a few months shy of 2 years but I suspect her 3rd heat will be at 1 year and 11 months so I was going to get them done in preparation for breeding.

I take my shikoku to the dog park but im always cautious and call her over when new dogs come in so i can observe them before letting her loose.
-
She's so cute, I might have to get a puppy from you in the future. I love the colored ones.
-
I feel like im the only one this is closer to, like 6 hour drive for me. When do you have to register by and where, etc? The site said rsvp soon. This really depends on my school schedule.
-
So I also would not be very close, so if you didn't want her flying then we would have to drive a while to meet up somewhere in the middle. Something else to consider.

Yes there is a fenced yard and I live in north west arkansas.
-
Yes, sounds a lot like arashi. Well I can't get kangai until after the closing on my house, fix it up and move in. Probably a month and a half. So if you figure out anything before then or if anyone else on here is interested I won't be offended.
-
Oh also my shikoku weighs probably 32 pounds max. she fluctuates a bit, because of random food strikes. Very picky eater I buy a new brand, flavor of food every time.
-
Well I was asking about shikoku specifically because they can be very pushy, while I think kai and shiba are more reserved. For example the last time we had a roommate with dogs arashi loved to play CONSTANTLY, the other dogs would hide from her bec…

If you can't find kangai a home in the next month and a half I might be able to take her if she could get along with an intact female shikoku.
-
@Knichtus I think I may be the closest shikoku owner to you. I live in north west arkansas, but Texas is large so it depends on your exact location. I think I may have lucked out and got a relatively low maintenance shikoku, but still has high prey …

If I wasn't buying a house and moving in month, I would be able to help. :( this is very sad. Plus MI is still pretty far from here.
-
okay, what I had read was anywhere from 15% to 33%. And we would probably be going a mile or 2 max at a time. She is almost 1.5 year. I would start her light. Possible Goal: water chalk bag and shoes ~ 1 lb snacks would be a box of granola bars.…

So i just recently got into bouldering and figured Arashi would rather go than stay home. She wouldn't get to do much, but there are usually decent sized hikes to the climbing areas and I will be carrying a huge 20 pound pad (2.5ft by 4ft while fold…

yeah, well i was just curious for her. I like what i fed. Hmm she must have come across the grain free when searching. She was feeding some purina thats not even on dog food advisory and she just switched to nutro natural choice

omg haha. i never saw that. Arashi only got like during her heat cycle, and only towards Nova. oh and i decided flights around Christmas were too expensive so im aiming for this summer (I will eventually get up there lol). I just have to find a week…

so cute. Didn't realize Kurenai was a hump monster :p
-
So i know im way late getting to this. So what is the penalty for breaking the rules?
-
Thank you Shigeru very helpful :D
-
Well I know that most are older hobbyist. I was under the impression that there were a few websites, i think o read that somewhere. I guess i could have been mistaken.

I really want to import a good male in the next year or two, but I don't even really know where to start. I know Shigeru @TheWalrus helps. And I figured I would ask him and my breeder Corina @ShikokuSpirit and maybe Brad @brada1878 when I got a lit…

I don't particularly agree with the breeding before 1.5 year with X-rays personally. But i knew beforehand that he was from good lines because i remember some excitement before him being imported. So far my girl is 10 months with no health issues...…
