Dave - Are you back from vacation??? Yes, I am definitely enjoying my new toy! It is quite a bit different than my D60, and I can use my prime 50mm lens with it. (YIPPEEEE!) I love that lens. I really liked the first one of Bella, too. But because that lens does not do well with wiggly puppies, it took me a few tries to get it right. I have about 800 pictures of Bella in her Yoda pose. She must think it looks good on her.
Beth - Nola was actually getting ready to attack her loofa dog in that picture... I caught as she was contemplating which ear to gnaw off.
It was a nice 55 degrees today! Therefore, when I got home from work, we brought out the squeaky soccer ball and had some fun playtime. Which means... More backyard spam... Please ignore the trashy yard behind ours.
Rui, if only we could find a way to use it! :-P Maybe a giant hamster wheel for them to run their Shiba 500's on? And yes, the D90 is awesome! It is so much easier to use than my D60 was. I feel like I have a lot more control. AND all my old lenses work with it.
Nola is quite fuzzy! lol! Kitsune (our genetic sesame) has the fullest, plushest, thickest sesameish coat this winter! He looks 5lbs heavier with fur alone! Its gonna be a fur-filled spring!!!!
So it snowed! :-D We got about 12 inches of snow yesterday evening and last night. The pups are confused, but enjoying it! I took a few pictures, but they are not really all that great... Shooting in the snow is hard!
Sorry so many pictures... But they REALLY enjoyed playing this morning! Once it starts to get a little later (and the sun starts to go down), I may take some more.
Dave - LOL. I took a TON of photos... those were some of the only ones that came out okay. Trying to get the exposure right with blinding light is pretty ridiculous. Especially when it is too bright to see the LCD. That is why I might try to get some more this evening once the sun gets a little less bright. I have never really taken snow pictures. I guess mother nature will need to give me some more snow to practice with!
Aren't Shibas so cute in the snow? Although I hate snow, Triton thinks it is a special present that someone left just for him. He leaps, runs, and plays like a puppy when it snows. It brings a smile to my face even when I'm mad because I have to shovel again!
So, it finally warmed up this weekend! We had a great time playing in the yard and going to the park. Nola has made excellent progress with her over-excitement when meeting new people. She is now perfectly able to walk by people and keep her cool. YAY! However, she still gets rather excited when she sees another dog. We worked on that both Saturday and Sunday. We picked a fairly high traffic area at the park and sat down. Bella loves to people watch, so she was just as content as could be. Nola was a little antsy both days, but finally got the point where she could sit still and watch another dog walk by just a few feet away on Sunday. I was SO proud of her! I wanted to make sure to end on a happy note, so we left shortly after that. Needless to say, both pups were pretty exhausted by the time Sunday night rolled around.
I had too much fun playing around with the pups to take too many photos, but I did get some of Bella playing soccer for your viewing pleasure! Keep in mind that six months ago, Bella was scared to death of any ball bigger than her head. She would not get near a soccer ball. I would say we have made a bit of progress with her!
Awwww, so nice to see the Bella and Nola spam. I can't believe how big Nola is! She is adorable as is Bella! Yay for Bella for getting over the fear of the ball. She looks WAY happy to be playing soccer.
I took a video of Eric and Bella playing with the soccer ball... The best part is when Eric hits the ball with his head and hurts himself... He goes to get the ball, then Bella grabs it and trots off... But the poor thing could not figure out how to get up the steps with the ball! Silly gal.
LOL... LJ, see the first post in this thread... It is a balance ball that is in my office. Bella is slightly afraid of it. But she has come along way with that ball, too.

Very cool photos! Isn't the D90 just sweet to use?
Bella's expression is very funny. I also like the last one of Nola in your previous set, a lot.
awesome pics
Taking photos with snow isn't easy at all, all the white messes up the camera's metering.
