you can send one to me sean lol, actually if i had the money and time i probably would consider it. seriously thinking about importing now our import laws are changing but will probably be towards the end of 2013 if you want to plan another litter for them lol
I love that last pic! What a beautiful mom she makes, and the puppies are so cute!
I wish I could have another dog right now! I'd love a female....I've been thinking of getting Oskar a bigger dog as a playmate, and I was thinking of a girl......But not right now, I'm afraid!
Irina, yeah I describe it as kinda like a natures baby powder smell. It's hard to pin down but it's so puppy smell.
Here is the latest spam. Three weeks old as of today. This round of photos kinda sucks honestly. I had an unreal batch that I took this morning. Puppies standing, playing, the works -- and I formated the card.
Before I unleash week four puppy spam, I just want to clarify something. Finding a prospective buyer for a dog isn't that hard. Where I'm having issues is finding people that are willing to be involved with the two clubs. I find it amazing, that someone will write me an email asking about the puppies, explaining to me how hard it is to find one, yet states quite clearly that they have no interest in the clubs. In most cases, I explain that helping the breed and the clubs can be as simple as being a good ambassador for the JA when out in public. We have two members here who own JA pups from one of our JACA breeders... they give back to the breed by posting and sharing on the forums. Sadly they still say no.
Yes for California buyers, I would like to see the pups make it to the show and for people in Texas, I would like to see them make a HOTS event but that is about it. I completely understand that shows are a big deal - Akiho shows are not. Going to a picnic however with free food and a chance to meet and talk to other members who own JA should be a plus.
The other thing that I find amazing, is how people think that I just walk into the backyard and pick up a "red with white mask" right off the shelf. First Red with white mask is an AKC thing but what part of limited breeding isn't coming across.
So yes, finding a good home for a pet isn't that hard but finding people that are willing to give back just a little is.
I find that really odd that people who are so interested in such a rare breed are not willing to give a little back to the club, especially if what you are asking for is just to be a breed ambassador.
I would think that it would be the opposite. If I were waiting for a puppy (for argument's sake, a Hokka ;-) ), I would absolutely be willing to be a breed ambassador, go to shows, heck, I would even consider a co-ownership for breeding purposes.
Yea, that is frustrating. Maybe It's just my upbringing from a small town to have pride in the things I love, but I would think with the JA being such a rare breed, that people who own them/want to adopt would want the world to know about them and get involved in the breed, even if it is just informing people in the park, it would still be for the betterment of the breed. I do like being involved in things I am passionate for, which is only a few things, so maybe I am a little biased.
I would love for there to be an Akita meetup in Texas! Picnic or show
Right, I didn't want to show or breed. However, I did agree to get Kaeda to the show. What won me over was taking her to the Pet Expo in Costa Mesa. I had a blast having her in the booth with me.

Perhaps one/some of the members might be interested in your crew. On left hand side of web is the organizer name and "email" contact button.
