The pee break then breakfast thing is driving us crazy. Here it is 5:30 and 6:30, but I sure would like him to sleep through til 6:30 at least, but he's not doing it yet.
@Hinata23 - Around 4 months old they will stop waking you up. Then around 6-9 months they start not wanting to be in their crate and bitching, if you do it right and ignore them, this period only lasts a few weeks... Then they are good about being in their crate and sleeping in.
In the AM when I let the Kai out, Akashi will sometimes not get up and just sleep in his crate for another few hours with the crate door open. Ayu, Haru, and Kumi do this too.
@Brad--that is so good to hear! Leo already doesn't like to be in the little upstairs crate, but he's fine in the giant crate downstairs. But I am really looking forward to the days he doesn't want to get up at 5:30!
@Brada1878 Well Goro sleeps in our room and wakes us, Jeff's brother (whose next door), and his parents who are directly above us... His howls and cries get pretty loud if we ignore him more than 10 mins. lol
Sweet... ) I love the look on his face...lol Ki really likes to wake the house at 6am evvverrry day... I don't think she really has to potty (she's 6 going on 7 months) I think she just really enjoys the morning that much... if I let the girls out in the yard at 6 (and I crawl back in bed for a few) it's only about 15 minutes later that I hear them tearing around out there having a blast... Everyone shuts down around here about noon though and then once evening hits again and the air cools it's game on again...
lol... That's how he tells you he needs to go potty? Silly pup!
I wonder if he is just trying to calm himself by holding something in his mouth when he needs to go out... and as a result it works as a marker for his humans too?
@brad1878 It could be. It works pretty nicely for us! He pees with stuff in his mouth and runs back inside with it. Also when he cries to go outside and I let him out of his crate he won't go out until he finds something to take with him... Shoe, sock, paper, toy... Anything he can carry!
Leo just cries when he needs to go out, though if he's not in the crate he won't. The only accidents he's had in the house were when I wasn't watching him (only a few, mostly not at our house). But he did just walk to the middle of the puppy classroom and pee, which was kind of funny.
If he's in his crate, though, he's very clear on his needs. He only cries for real if he has to go to the bathroom or is hungry.
@Hinata23 I get ready to go pick up Tomo next week from Brad and Jen, I find myself wonder if the 5:30 Mountain or Pacific time :-) ... Really could be 4:30 my time :-( These are great posts and really help me focus on what is ahead.. Thank you for sharing. Love the Goro pics... He seems to have quite the personality!
@LynnC No problem! We're on Mountain time, but I think that your pup will be fine. He'll get use to your time zone quickly. Goro woke me up at 4 am this morning and wanted to play, so it depends how early he goes to bed and how much he drank. We try to take him out to potty before we go to bed (12am) even if he's asleep and he seems to sleep 30 mins longer LOL... 30 mins is something!
@losech We're loving how Goro is turning out! He's a little character and he's perfect with ChoCho. I've never had a dog like him lol He's really something special.

I do not know about the sleeping in because my AA will NOT sleep past 5:30 or so.... But maybe she will let me sleep in ONE day lol
