@WhoBitMe Aw thank you! Goro is honored! No, it's not strange at all. I love a lot of NK that I've never met! :)

He also "cuddles" with the sofa and walls lol. Goofy pooch. :)
  • I love the pics! (Couldn't see the FB video though, as it says "secure video" on it). He is so funny!

Leo does the same thing with the dish! He only takes Oskar's big dish. But he runs to the sofa with it, like he does with everything!

So fun to see how similar the littermates are!
  • @shibamistress It's a Flickr video. It should work... weird. Leo is such a cutie :)

Is anyone else having an issue with the video?
  • I can't wait to meet your fur babies!

@tjbart17 I totally forgot to respond to your comment! Thank you for it! It made me happy that it made your day better! :)

He reminds us of Akashi too! He's a great mix of Ayu's sweetness and Akashi's goofiness!
  • I would love to see more "Goro cuddles" photos. :) Cuddling with walls and couches are things my cats do sometimes.
  • Goro is a trip. His bowl carrying is such a subtle hint. lol

He reminds me of Tora, Ayu's brother in looks, but he acts like Akashi.
  • Goro looks great! Love the bowl trick - none of ours do that! Their "I need to go outside" cues pretty much include sitting at the door and if it's urgent we might get a small whine or scratch at the door, lol!! Guess they just aren't as creative!!! haha :o)

The excitement of all these new Kai puppies and Kai owners joining the forum made me want to go back and look through all my pictures and videos of Goro when he was a younger pup! It seems like forever that we picked up the little monster from the airport and signed away the blessing of 6 hour nights' sleep. Although he was a fuzzy-floppy eared-land-shark he was incredibility cute! Here's a video I found that I didn't even know I had! In the video you will have the opportunity to see Goro's famous "body builder man-pee" pose, as we call it! It's not a very good shot of it, but it's darn cute. He still does it when he pees on grass. He bends his knees and poses, never really squats. LOL I guess he felt that squatting was too lady-like and took away too many manly points. Oh and excuse his humping! @Brada1878

  • @Hinata23 - LMAO... I forgot how cute and floppy he was. He reminds me still so much of baby Ritsu. You would think he came from Ritsu not Akashi until you see that stupid pee-style, which is totally Akashi-style. LOL

Our puppies are so humpy... I dunno what the deal is with that!

    ----
  • @brada1878 He only humped ChoCho a few times in the beginning and then stopped. NOW he's constantly humping her face. He's never humped any of us, which is GREAT since it was one of the things I was dreading about getting a male dog! It's insane how so many of the parent's traits are passed down to puppies! His man-pee pose always cracked us up!!
  • I'll have to get a video of Akashi doing the same pee technique...

@brada1878 Please do! I would love to see it... as weird as that may be! LOL Did the Kumi x Ritsu pups come out looking like Goro or was Goro just a weird concentration of Ritsuness?
  • @Hinata23 - Nope, they all looked like their mother. Nori had the extra skin thing that Ritsu and Goro did tho... Ritsu and Ayu are half siblings (share a father), so I am assuming Goro's Ritsu-ness came down from his grandfather.
  • Oh Gordito you brought so much joy to ChoCho right from the start. He is super cute!

@brada1878 Mika is very humpy too. Thankfully only to Koda who gets very annoyed with it, but allows his puppy to hump him.
  • @tjbart17 Didn't she look all happy?! She didn't even care that the monster was humping her lol

Aww he was a cute little chub. That peeing stance is hilarious LOL, just a manly slight knee bend with squared hips. Looks like ChoCho didn't have much a "shell" to be in once Goro got there :)
With the humping, Cho seemed to not notice it, then suddenly "hey, WHAT, you sneaky punk" in a friendly way haha.

@cezieg LOL ChoCho didn't care then, but she sure cares now that he's close to 50 lbs. lol I love the "man-pee" pose. It's one of my favorite things Goro does! Probably because I got a kick out of him not wanting to squat like a girl.
  • Oh wow he's Koda's size almost!!
  • @tjbart17 I officially can't carry him anymore. He's a beast!
  • @Hinata23 That's not saying much. lol. You're tiny. I can pick up Koda although he's half my size. I checked his vet record from last week. He's 51.4 pds. At his most, he was almost 54, but that's when we were running like 5-7 miles a day and hiking. His back end is skinny now.

@tjbart17 True! LOL It's hard to believe how massive he's gotten. Lately he's been having these spurt energy where he runs full speed around our apartment and jumps over ChoCho, the couch, our bed, chairs, runs into walls and slide doors... I can't never get a hold of him. He just plows into me! I seriously need someone those sumo fat suits to stop him!

Last night we had a friend and her husband over to carve pumpkins and Goro went to town with her! Holy Cow! He kissed her all over... arms, face, neck, hair, down her shirt! Then tucked his head between her arm and snuggled with her... I guess he like to flirt with pregnant women. He made an awesome impression! She wanted a Kai right away! lol

Today Goro, Yumi, Leo, and their other two litter mates turn 8 months! Not as exciting as the 1 year mark, but good enough for me. ;)

Here are some recent pictures of the little man:

-He moved the pumpkins to lay between them lol

-Goro decided he wanted to take home a chunk of palm tree bark...

-Recovering from being sick and throwing up all day while cuddling with his moose pillow .

  • I love his tail!! Gordito is a very handsome man. I have to say.....he still looks tiny compared to Koda. lol. Keep growing Gordito!!
  • Leo wishes his littermate happy 8 month birthday! Goro is so cute, and he's really looking more mature than Leo (who still has such a puppy face!). And Goro is so much darker; it's so interesting! Leo is positively blonde in place on the face! (Well, kind of Shiba blonde/reddish).

I laughed out loud about the pee position! Wish Leo had that...he does the walking pee, so he always has pee on his belly. Gross!

Love the odd sleeping position too!

@tjbart lol He seems to be slowing down a bit. Not sure at what age dogs stop growing, but hopefully he won't get much bigger! I can barely control him as it is! lol

@shibamistress For some reason Goro has always kind of had a mature face. Even as a puppy he looks much older. Must be the big head and the long snout.

Here's a picture of him looking like a man-child lol:

He has a ton of deep red brindle, it's just so hard to photograph. He's been getting more brindle on his back lately. It's kind of neat. :) Leo is almost the physical opposite of Goro. Ayu's coat and Akashi's head, while Goro has Akashi's coat color and Ayu's muzzle :) It's really cool how diverse they came out!
  • Happy 8 months Goro!
  • Happy 8 months birthday to all of them! Goro is so handsome and what a character!
  • Happy 8 months Goro :) He looks great, too funny about the pumpkins! I let Ren lick my plates clean if it's something she can have, like a stew, that way if I'm in the middle of something it's not all hard to clean when I get up haha. Really cute pics with the moose pillow!

@cezieg We let him lick the plate sometimes too... if we don't he just wait until I put it in the dishwasher and licks it there when I'm not looking. lol
