All 5 dogs seemed to impress us today in some way! Goro and ChoCho were super out going (ChoCho as out going as a shikoku can be, Goro as out going as a lab lol), Saru played with big dogs, Ciqala ran around a ton and chased Goro and ChoCho, Ren explored a bit and let me pet her! It was a pretty good day

@brada1878 - Bri's parents decided to get out of Connecticut early, we've been running around prepping the house for their coming down. Will be here tomorrow morning instead of Monday! Plus had a vet visit for Dragoon & crazies in general lol
@Hinata23 - Goro is a beast!!! But I bet @Yandharr Kel made him look tiny anyway

I expected Ciqala to be bigger too, then again I expected Ren and Tsune both to be bigger when going to meet each. These NK's and their perfect proportions so you can't gauge size without something in the photo as size reference :P In size order it goes Ciqala being maybe 5% smaller than Ren, Ciqala has a sleeker coat with slightly shorter hair while Ren's puffs out a tad more and is slightly longer, they only differ by two pounds. Goro could probly eat both if they were made of kibble haha.

Ren sniffing things with ChoCho!!!
@sjp051993 I was so proud of her/happy for her. This was her first time EVER being social and playing with other dogs outside of the house. She seemed to be interested in ChoCho the most since she only slightly tucked her tail from a down position, and Ren would watch her sniffing and then sneak over afterwards to see what she had been checking out. Normally Ren stays within 10 feet of me in open, non-trail, areas. But this time several times she walked off more than 25 feet to check out what Cho had been sniffing and then to do some exploring on her own for a little bit. Not to mention sniffing Hinata on her own and then letting her pet her neck. Also a first!
She also ran around for a moment with Saru & Ciqala! It was a very positive meet up for all the dogs. Everyone has excellent dog manners!
@Sangmort Next time we're getting @Yandharr to kidnap you and Brian, in-laws as well if need be!
@Sangmort Wow you got some winner in-laws! If I had in-laws like that they'd have a house key and could give my dogs extra exercise whenever they'd want! Haha
Seriously. I love it when they're down here. They drive 30 minutes from Davenport to walk my dogs for me! hahaha [ no, not bribing them, they've show up randomly more than once "HEY! We're here to walk the doggies!
@brada1878 He was a social butterfly yesterday. Playing with other dogs, going up to random people and giving them love. I would sometimes loss track of him when I was talking (I'm going to get my future children killed! LOL) and what was he doing? Hanging out with random people like if he were their dog! They petted him and he gave them tons of love. Maybe he thought they had treats on them... but he probably just wanted loving. He's such a love bug
@cezieg Well consider yourself lucky that they aren't made out of kibble! Goro didn't have lunch yesterday! You would've been dogless very quickly! lol
@Yandharr I was just thinking that too! Ciqala has to be the tinniest Kai ever! And Goro, not sure if he's the largest 7.5 month old kai, but he's a freaking monster next to her!
@Sangmort Next time! This park was really small and open. Maybe we should try to pick a time when it'll be empty and see if maybe Fate and Dragoon let loose and relax a bit.
I wonder if my boy will grow as big as Goro? He's an Ayu pup, too isnt he? I really like Goro & Cho Cho's relationship.

I have no idea if Goro's size can be reproduce lol. Nio was smaller (height and structure) than Akashi when I met them. Maybe the Ayu and Akashi combination was what created this monster! Brad said they both had big dogs in their genes. BUT maybe Ayu's genes will take over! I would go for the fatty with the floppy ears of the litter
I will never complain of Juno being small anymore! Ciqala has her beat for "petite!" But Charles is right- Kai do look a lot bigger in photos.
Koda is a big Kai like Goro. Bigger, but full grown. His dad is 55 pds. But he has a sister who is like 22 pds. (Ciqala's size). There are ups and downs of having a big Kai. He's not as agile as the girls and can't run as fast. The good thing is that he was just always really good because of it. I never found him on the kitchen counter.
I think big Kai's are a fluke, both sides having recessive genes that make a big Kai, maybe one out of every 10-15. I think Koda's the only one out of his siblings his size. But one of his brothers died in an accident at a young age and he looked big at 6 months old.
The pups all look great! It's so cool that you all can get together.

So, I wouldn't expect to get a Goro-sized male from the Nio x Ayu litter, but stranger things have happened.
Take Luytiy x Masha as an example, Luytiy is a medium-small CO and Masha is a small CO... They produced one of the largest male COs in the US right now... So, you never know!
ETA - That pup from Luytiy x Masha that is so huge now (180lbs) was the smallest pup in the litter, we called him "Tiny". We placed him with this small-stature very polite and concerned baker in NJ. He was so concerned about getting an aggressive dog and his wife was worried about the size of COs. So we selected "Tiny" for them because he was very calm and friendly and small... Now he is HUGE and AGGRESSIVE. LOL... FAIL. They have done totally great with him tho, and now own a female CO too.
Anyway, point is, it's really hard to know what you will get even when you got them.
