@mdokic That's great it is such a perfect activity for her. It's fun to watch a dog doing something they think is so awesome. It's like how hilarious it is to watch Meitou do a barn hunt run even though he has no idea what he is supposed to be doing and is just running around like a spaz.
LOL! You know, if they're getting exercise, and they're having a blast, that's the BEST! How they execute is lowest priority on that list i'd say I think this group is going to start barn hunts, maybe we'll try that too! Kimber would totally run around like a little spaz doing that i bet haha
Lol! I'm surprised youtube didn't catch the song and complain about copyright! Whatever they were playing during Kimber's runs triggered the filter /:)
Kona is really streamlined when she runs. Going through the photos, she's often fully stretched out or all balled up. Seems very efficient!
I like at the end of the second run, she sees Nate and goes "oh hi daddy!" and is all waggy! So cute!
She's definitely more efficient than kimber lol!!! Kimber's head is fully upright a lot of the time hahaha...i did like at the end of them how she looked up at him "i got it dad! did you see me?!"
I'll have to take Shelbs out to the desert one day and let her run big so I can video it. The dog park had to have renovations done, so wet haven't been back for a while.
Thank you so much @zandrame for taking all those pictures and capturing those moments for us! It was a lot of fun, and much more laid back that I thought it was...good first AKC event, everyone was happy to be there (dogs and humans) and lots of people interested in this new breed they'd never heard of...Kona and Kimby were good little Kai ambassadors Kona was little miss focused speed demon as usual, no games, just running! I will say though, after watching some people getting knocked over/pulled over by their dogs, i'm really happy we have small(ish) breeds. :P
Thank you!!! The best part is watching her slap happy face during the whole thing...she gets slap happy for only a few things: being out far away from everything, being at the beach, or lure coursing (well, anywhere she can really get her zoomie on).. my little speed racer
Brief update: early october we finally moved into a house, so the girls now have a backyard to call their own, and do their zoomies in. It's been especially good for Kona...she's so much calmer and at ease in general when she really gets good exercise and gets to spaz out a bit (she likes to spaz. lol). Happy to now supplement running with some walks/hikes, rather than the other way around like it was for a while. Here's a few shots of Kona, with a video of her enjoying the yard with her sis
what an awesome yard for Kai! multiple levels, obstacles, I see why Kona likes it so much! She's such a pretty dog- she's got Nio's eyes in the second to last picture there for sure.
She looks like a mini-Nio most of the time, every-so-often i see ayu, but to me she's mostly a female nio mini-me :P She LOVES dodging and weaving through obstacles in the yard!
Thank you!! Nate was so worried that the yard was going to be too small when we were deciding on it...and i told him a) he must have forgot how small our two girls really are, and b) how resourceful kona is with her space! sure enough, she said "screw the grass! i'm going up on the tiers!" she made her own little racetrack up there...all the mulch goes flying -_-

The girls have new harnesses too and I think they worked out well!

She catches it at the end! Good girl!
Thanks SO much again for taking these!!! I get to see how happy they were!
