Hahaha the crazy eye, that's awesome! That's so funny about the lizards, Ren had never seen one before either. Whenever we go on walks there are tons of them sunbathing on the sidewalks and they'll dart off upon approaching, every time Tsune will dart after and try to catch it. The whole time Ren is unsure of whether to chase them too or just watch them, she'll do a half lunge when Tsune chases then sees it's a lizard and just tilts her head and looks at it like "what the hell is that thing?!" haha.
@cezieg LOL that's awesome! The only thing I'm worried about is them catching a Cane Toad... I'm super paranoid!! Can't wait to move to Orlando so that we don't have to deal with them anymore!
@sjp051993 I'll be sure to be extra careful around toads then, most are ok down here except for one. Just grabbing a Bufo toad by mouth will put a large dog into moderate shock and anything under 40lbs into severe shock. Unfortunately not too many rabbits for her to chase, plenty of lizards though once she figures out they're only moving that fast to get away, not to crawl up her legs haha.
@Hinata23 Yeah for real! I'm planning a move to northern Nevada or Orlando (ruled out Illinois a few days ago) in January, will be nice to not have to worry about them anymore. At least it's so hot down here that they're usually only out at night, and Tsune won't stop too often during night jogs once he gets into running mode.
@cezieg I'm so excited to move out of the Bufo Toad zone!!! I've been dealing with this for too long! About a week ago Goro caught a little toad while in my sister's yard... I screamed so loud that the neighbor came over to see what happened... It was at 6 am. Fortunately it was a regular toad... He dropped it immediately (probably tasted like crap), but we rinsed his mouth on the spot. I feel so bad for screaming him... He was sad the whole morning. Poor baby.
Oh my! There goes my garden idea for the house! I have actually seen Goro's adventures on Facebook, I joined the Kai Enthusiasts group as well. I was not aware that he was one of Ayu's! Such a pretty boy, and what a personality!
@knecha Yup he's one of Ayu's pups! He's not super destructive in the yard.. but he does love grass, leaves, bark, and branches! hahahaha It doesn't help that he's a major fatty! If you work early on with "Leave it" and "Drop it" you won't have much of a problem. AND your pup might not be a monster like Goro is!
@StaticNfuzz Yea, I know he's not fat at all (NOW). He's just a pig when it comes to food. I guess "fatty" is a Miami, FL slang for someone who scarfs everything down. He's currently pretty fit!
awesome! who was in the household first and what ages were the dogs at when they began living together? im planning to get a kai to keep ghost company in the future.
@jikjak ChoCho was 1.5 years old and she was with us 2 months before we added Goro to the gang. They hit it off on the spot. They do everything together. It's kind of weird to think of Goro without ChoCho and ChoCho without Goro. It worked out wonderfully to get a male puppy, instead of a female (having a boy and a girl was a ton of fun). ChoCho was very maternal when he was very young and now she's his partner in crime. I think she really missed her pack at Brad and Jen's, so when we got Goro she was extremely excited. Brad and Jen did a great job working on her relationship with other dogs. She's a very special lady
Here's a video of them playing the next morning (we picked him up the night before at 12am).
I thought this was pretty funny, so I thought I would share it!
So Goro signals us when he needs to use the bathroom by grabbing some and waiting by the door. He usually grabs a chew or ball. In our new apartment he started pacing around the house with his food bowl (seriously looks like he's begging for food and knowing him he probably is! lol) and walks circles around the sofa if i'm sitting on it to get my attention. I guess because we take a little longer (due to the fact that we don't have a backyard) he has upgraded to an even bigger bowl to express he urgent need to pee! lol
