Wanted to know, I’m a new owner of a 7 1/2 month old male Kai. I have a large yard (about ½ acre) fenced in and have a large variety of animals that come up to the 4 foot fence (Deer, Elk, Foxes, Coyotes, and unfortunately, Mt. Lions). My 13 year old Akita had to be put down last month, so Kibou my new Kai is all alone when I'm at work all day. He has 24/7 access to the house with 2 dog doors, but wanted to know how well these dogs do by themselves. And do Kai’s jump fences or like to run away? I managed to get Kibou not to bark at the Elk and just watch them, but he wants to get to the Foxes. I have been thinking of getting him a companion from the local dog pound, but wanted to know what other owners of Kai’s had experienced.

Thanks everyone for your comments! I'll wait for a couple of weeks and see what happens. Meanwhile I'll give him some vitamin C. My picture must of showed up, but I can't see it here...I'm a little confused on picture posting.

Thanks for sending the post. From what I've read about Jindo's is they are jumpers and could easily jump over our 4' fence. I like Jindo’s but if this is true about them, I wouldn't want Kibou to learn this. So far Kibou respects the fence and ha…
