Hi guys, thanks for all your help! I have listed with the national rescue but will try these as well. I will absolutely be keeping her until I find a place that is 100% right for.

Thanks, Calia. I did think over that. The woman who fostered her for two months from the shelter had several dogs, and they seemed to have rotating turns in the crates. When I picked her up, I thought nothing of it, but now that I know so much abo…

Hmm. I definitely see your point, but I think I disagree with the snarling being an acceptable behavior when a dog approaches respectfully. When I witnessed it, the behavior doesn't seem indicative of a mentally sound animal. I also think all dogs w…

Brandon: If Tsuki always snarls when Ricky approaches (he does always back up), and I allow it with no correction, what can she learn from the encounter? I guess that's my main issue, they do a great job of ignoring eachother because Tsuki isn't in…

I do always let her drag a leash around, but when she went for him it didn't click in my mind that I could pull her off that way. It hasn't happened enough, I guess. Hiring a behaviorist isn't really feasible for me right now. I feel like taking her…

well im not sure that you can just ask the doctor to do just the leg. its a lot of injections (the test we had done was 60). Its best to let them do whats necessary, vanities aside. Doc didnt recommend a food trial, the symptoms werent indicative …

sunyata: this is Great Falls - its the border between MD/VA :)

yes! Ive been feeding fish oil for more than two months - about 2000 mg.

hehe, they live up to the "little brushwood dog" description, for sure! Tsuki's itching is greatly reduced! I'm not sure if its attributed to the cold weather (her allergies are all trees and weeds) or the Atopica, either way, Im so happy…

hooray for finishing! I ran a half a year ago and you should be so proud just to have run your first half :) Here's to many more!
-
yayyyy!! She looks so cuddlesome!

I won't lie - it was purely based on appearance. Then, once I read up on the breed, I was even more interested because I love a challenge! Interestingly, my shiba, Tsuki ended up being nothing like some of the shibas I'd read about... I mean she won…

Ahh best of luck to Beebe! Tsuki just had one 4" x 8" site shaved under her front leg - its not big at all. That size is pretty standard as per my research. Really make sure Beebe is not reacting to the allergy test before you take her ho…

Some pups definitely get desensitized to bitter apple. I don't have a destructive dog, thank goodness -but I use the bitter spray to keep Tsuki's allergy itching under control. It worked for a few days tops... then again the urge for her to itch may…

Im so sad for your couch ): wahh its so prettyful. Hachi's head looks so prosh peeking out there :) What on earth is going on in the last photo? Is that the calling car/mark or something? hahaha

Aww! I love seeing the pawing action on the plump neck of a shiba!
-
omg he is hilarious! I love the look on his face! Its like he's permanently laughing at you.
-
hehe yup Brandon, that video could've gone on for another 10 min :) Luckily her allergy testing is all done and her meds are kicking in. The cone can probably come off today or tomorrow! Im so excited for her.

Im not on the best terms with the woman I got Tsuki from (did NOT disclose her allergies) - and I did rename her and referred to her by the name I gave her. The woman acted very offended and continued to address her as NeNe (Nay Nay, haha) in our em…

lovelyyyyy pup, I do adore his little frowny eyebrows!!

Patrice, thanks for the heads up! I believe the vet did give her the steroid shot, when I brought her back the second time today after the insane itching. Im definitely going to call to make sure she's pulling through ok. She's been on steroids (low…

hehe Hilo looks so SQUEESHED in the first one! love these photos!

Hm, I must be pretty lucky. Tsuki has never had an accident, and never vomited - then again, we've only been together less than 2 months.

Tsuki is SO SKITTISH. If I step on a crunchy leaf, she jumps. She also tends to "slink" around" and rub herself on my legs. Then there's the fact that she hates everyone but me and my fiance.

that's my favorite too Honey's Mom!!!!!!!!1 EEE

Tsuki is quite finicky about a poop spot! Her bathroom breaks and walks are separate things, so I wish she'd go instantly when I take her out at 11 pm when I'm about to go to bed, but it takes her about 10 min or so, which isn't long, but it does se…

My Tsuki really is strange! She's never even darted after the plentiful squirrels and chipmunks here in MD.
