Yep! A volunteer in Chicago is going to do it next week :D but I think she's going to need to meet Chloe before she commits to adopting her so I have to go visit eventually :)

wow. you are gonna need balls of steel and a heart of gold to see her leave your family! My two, my two peas in a pod, they don't even cuddle this lovely all that often!

OMG PAM!!!! I'm all mushy inside right now. That's just too cute for words. :-D

Wow, those two are so cozy. Our two Shibas never snuggle together.

Pam, If you continue to foster in the future, know that most Shibas will not be like Ryu and Chloe.... It is rare... It is an exception to have a Maui Kaia kind of match. Dogs that bond in a family generally tend to recover more quickly to a move than those alone.

Weigh you options on what is best for Chloe and make sure you give Ryu a chance to get over the changes after Chloe is adopted before you move again, otherwise you will see depression or behavior problems in the next transition.

That's true, moving as a family does help. When we moved into this studio we moved Dahmer in first and then the rest of the animals. Dahmer was FREAKING OUT until the rest of the family was there. He calmed down immediately after seeing his siblings with him.

Thanks Patrice and Rina :) We won't be moving until next summer so I'm hoping that will give Ryu enough time to (1) adjust when Chloe is adopted and (2) bond with his new sibling before we head out. We don't really have a choice in the timing of our move unfortunately. But we do have a choice on what changes we make to our family before then.

They are very cute together, I will have to admit. :D

LOL I know, she cracks me up. She is such a Queen Bee. Here's another pawing video:

    LOL,
Loving how much Chloe loves to be massaged while Ryu sits there screaming, "Enough already she's mine! Go be a Daddy's girl and ask Tim!"

The paw thing is cute, you gotta love that there is a language that's being spoken in volumes that crosses barriers and needs no translation.

Oh man! She's just too adorable. I could watch video of that all day long. I know everyone is saying you should keep chloe and not adopt her out.......(and I know you dont need more people jumping on that bandwagon, but I'm there too! haha).....but I think she really feels you are "her people" now. No matter what you guys do, best of luck to chloe!

Thanks Katie! She is just so easy (right now anyway!) that it's hard to stick to our guns and not get attached. However, I am still on the lookout for a calmer household for her. I think she'd be much happier and more relaxed :) Sometimes I feel like we get really far during the day when it's just me at home but when everyone else gets home, she goes back to being skittish and wary of us. I wonder if our situation is too overwhelming for her. The person who has applied for her sounds like she'd be a better match than our family but we'll have to see! I think they're doing her home visit this week ;)

well best of luck with that. Didnt you say the person who wants to adopt her is in Chicago? (maybe?) How far is that from you? Too far for Ryu and Chloe to continue their love affair?

LOL I might just have to put some extra miles on my car :) It's about 5.5 hours I believe. Quite honestly, Ryu has always been a lover so I'm sure he'll find a new sweet thing to keep him occupied hehe He's such a player.

It sounds like you have gotten to know her well and know what sort of situation would be an upgrade for her, that is great! It is impossible to think you won't get attached, because you do... they are living with you - you see them every day! And you will cry when she leaves, but you will be happy knowing why and grateful to have known her. Its how we were with the basset hound, I was in love with him (as all fosters, but he stood out), deeply and he and Tsuki hit it off instantly and he and Kitsune got along really well... but we ALL weren't in agreement, my husband wasn't as enthusiastic and we really aren't a basset friendly home so we kept on searching and found him his dream home. Maybe when I retire...
I sincerely hope the applicant works out!

The massage videos are great! Its Hanzo all over! He is never satisfied when the massage is over!

Mika does that too! Chloe's such a sweet girl!

    Chloe pulls a Jazz....almost :)

I always crate Chloe and Ryu when no one is home but today, Chloe wasn't feeling it.

Normally, this is what her crate situation looks like (disregard the crate thief inside hehe): Giraffe crate cover and flower pad.

    From Ryu
When my roommate got home today while I was out, this is what she saw:
    image
    From Chloe
Let me go through the list of things wrong with this picture:

    1. Crate cover is pulled off - and portion pulled INSIDE of crate
    2. Items that were stacked on top of crate are scattered on floor
    3. Fabric swatches are first knocked off the top of crate and then pulled into crate
    4. Look closely and you'll see the food bowl holder dangling from the top of crate. Have no idea how that got there. Absolutely no idea.
    5. Mischievous Shiba looking innocent.

HAHAHA! That is awesome! I love the innocent shiba face! That is the reason they are still alive.

I love it!! It's so nice when there's random crate destruction...and not by Jazz.

Ahh but look closely LJ, no stomped on poop!! :P

So venge poop didn't happen...merely because she didn't have enough time.
