This is late, but Brandon, I think your neighbours must think you're some kind of sadist, especially since you were LAUGHING while all that screaming was going on, lol. I had similar experiences when we had Tojo in the apartment. I had one neighbour who kept confronting me about abusing my dog. She also thought it was wrong to feed raw meat to a dog and I fed Tojo his raw viddles out on the balcony, so she would just stand out there and tell anyone who walked by about how I abused my dog. Really annoying.
Since Wednesday night we have had some friends over. Finnean and Turi have been here and all three of them are having a blast. It's all boys so there is a scuffle now and then, but they love to be together. I've been heading out to the dog park at 5am with them every morning so they can get some running done, walking three dogs at the same time is no easy task. Finn and Turi aren't spectacular on a leash. With spring in the air they have been playing more than I have seen in a long time. I have more pictures that I'll be editing, but here is a few.
Yeah, these three boys are peas in a pod. There were two dust ups, but that will happen. Fin took exception to some humping and he and Nemo went into battle dog stance, then Turi was trying to gaurd the bedroom and Nemo didn't like that, so they went into battle dog stance. Lost of Shiba growls and screams but nothing major. Just a smack on the but to each one and a couple of loud "HEYS!" and it was over.
Heidi - Spring was in the air and there was a lot of humping going on. A lot.
Yesterday afternoon we also picked up Whizzer. So we had four males for awhile, but still all good. I have some pictures of them playing from yesterday. Hopefully I'll get around to editing them all this week.
I'm up at 5am for work everyday, so it's easy to do on the weekends. It's peaceful at that time in the morning, when there isn't Shibas play fighting and screaming, and you get to watch the sunrise, or well, start to.
Nemo bites at Fin, Turi bites at Nemo. You can see how zoned in Nemo's eyes are:
The dogs are slightly out of focus, but whatever.
Snakry Turi face on the left:
Can you spot the cat?
I think this is my favorite shot from the weekend. The play time was done for the morning. Finn was at my feet, next to the couch, but Turi and Nemo layed down near each other on the floor in pretty much the exact same way. I only called for Turi, but I got two heads to lift and Turi's smile makes me laugh:
Yes some of those pictures were taken last Thursday night and I was indeed watching The Office.
Watching Shibas play really is the best, it always makes me laugh.
Finn is a rescue too, he was released from a puppy mill at six months old along with his five brothers and sisters. His mom was released a few months after them. His mother, and all of his litter mates have fairly serious seizure issues. Finn still has bathroom issues from that time in his life, and will still go to the bathroom in his crate when stressed. However 99% of the time he's happy and lives a really great life. Turi and Finn even get to go to work with their Mom everyday.
You had a lot on your hands during the weekend, huh? It's great to see them play through photos, I imagine the actual feeling of being there through the whole thing.
Finaly was able to finish up editing these pictures. I'm pretty far behind on pictures. I haven't even been taking my camera to the shelter because I'll never get them edited in time for them to be useful at this point, plus there have been way too many dogs.
Anyhow, Whizzer came over that Sunday so there are some of him in here:

The Double Hump:
Here is Homer, who insits on trying to lay on or in all objects that are odd. Book bags, plastic bags, cardboard boxes, whatever. This is my camera bag, which has compartments, he couldn't quite get comfy:

Man, you're way behind on this, so you better start editing those photos! :-P
The boys look like they're having loads of fun.
Nemo's snarky face is even more fun with his bad ass attire on.
They do look to be having a great time together. I love seeing Nemo with his friends!

Nemo is still looking great - even more so in his snazzy collar. )
5AM at the dog park, huh? You are very dedicated. lol

Definitely looking forward to more pictures!

Love all the photos. Looks like the boys are having a Fab time.
Love these play pics, what a great time they are having! I love watching Shibas play... its endless amusement and education for me.
Finn (the B&T?) looks so much like the NYCSR former foster Toby... its nice, to see Finn just enjoying his life. Its beautiful really.
Watching Shibas play really is the best, it always makes me laugh.

And I am so jealous that Turi and Finn get to go to work with their mum! I wish I could bring my two with me every day.
That last shot is very cool!
