Wow, that set looks awesome! I love the look on Nemo's face in the first one. He's all like "That's right. I'm one bad a$$ dog and this is one bad a$$ collar. yyyyyeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh."

Also, I find it highly amusing that the words "giggle" and "boutique" appear on the skull printed fabric. :-)

    Awww!! He's so handsome! :)

Brandon, I need you to come to Fort Lost in the Woods to take pictures of my entire product line! :P

Dave, I felt silly sewing a purple tag on that macho collar!

    Nice set !

Nice! The squinty-eyes and collar give off such an air of baditude.

Also, I love the grin that dogs do when getting scratched!

Nemo is one good looking, bad ass Shiba :-)

    Cool set!

Oh, wow, that collar is dope!

"and with his bone, that he spends more time protecting than he does chewing" <- LOL! Sounds like Lani!

Lani likes to sit around and stare at her bone? Nemo will sit and watch it for an hour or more, really looking out for anyone who is going to drag it away. However it makes him sit still, so now when I want him to chill out so that I can take a break from entertaining him, I just get the cow bone out.
  • edited November -1
Yes, she will just sit with it next to her "owning" it. She does this to food too, if she is not in the mood to eat but still wants her food she will just sit by it daring any of the dogs to take it. She makes no sound, just sits there. Hilo does it too, but only with stuffed toys.

Last night Nemo had another seizure. First one that we know of since last August. Can't say for sure what triggered it but the weather has been goofy lately. Warm days (for February) and then fairly cold at night. Also started rotating a new food into his diet a few days ago. I guess those are possabilities, but then again it could of just happened because they happen.

This one occured at the dog park. We went to the park at about 8:15 last night with Takara and her owner Alex. They ran around as usual and killed a few mice. Nemo dog a hole and got covered in mud, as the park is kind of swampy on top from all the melted snow. He digs down to the frozen earth and tries to keep digging, makes a real mess of himself. At about 9:00 he and I headed up to the front gate and started to wait for Alex and Takara. Takara was being a true Shiba and as Alex called her to come so that we could leave Takara ran to the furthest corner of the park and hung out there. While Nemo and I were waiting I wanted to go sit on the picnic table, so I tried to walk Nemo over with me and noticed he wasn't moving, then I noticed that his legs were going goofy and the sizure set in. Same type of seizure he always has. About two minutes long, I helped him lay down on the ground and kept petting him, once or twice he tried to get up and then fell over. After it was over he was wobbly on his legs for about 10 seconds, then did a Shiba shake and was good to go. Poor guy.

Poor Nemo. I'm sorry he and you had to go through that. Thank goodness you know exactly what to do and can stay calm about it.
  • edited November -1
Sorry to hear this, but I'm glad that you don't have to go through this too often. I don't think I would be that calm.
  • edited November -1
That sucks. But dogs are so resilient, aren't they?
How many has he had this year?
  • edited November -1
That we know of, Nemo had one in 2008, and so far one in 2009. He had six in 2006, and four in 2007. I really think that switching him from Heartguard to Interceptor cut down on the frequency of his seizures.
  • edited November -1
At least that's encouraging - let's pray this is the last one for this year.

I'm very sorry to hear you guys had to go through this again.
At least he's completely over it as soon as it's over, and you figured out a way to minimize them.
My hat's off to you for staying calm and helping Nemo through it, it must be an overwhelming experience.

Jeez, I'm so sorry to hear this. Poor Nemo. :o(

Sounds like he bounced back nicely. I'm glad he doggy buddy was not with him at the time, that may have freaked him out. [maybe, I dunno]

Your a good Shiba parent Brandon. Nemo is lucky to have you.

Well Takara did see him as the seizure was ending and she gave him distance. Once he had bounced back she tried to play with him.

There really isn't anything to do but stay calm, because you can't stop them or change anything about what his happening. All you can do is be there.
  • edited November -1
Poor Nemo, it's good you were there with him to help him out. Yes, you are a good doggy parent for not freaking out.

Nemo and I hit up the dog park last night. It has been very warm, for Wisconsin in February, and all the snow has melted. Leaving the dog park a bit of a swamp. Nemo has been digging for mice. I took these last night when we got home from the park.

    Nemo Mud Face-1271

    Nemo Mud Face-1275

This is a bit "cleaned up" as he used his face as a plow on the snow that is still standing as we walked back to the car.

Nemo looks like a warrior coming back from a fierce battle. So the mice are dumb enough to take up residence at a dog park? They must get smarter as they go south. :-P

I am sorry to hear about Nemo's seizure the other day, but I am very glad he gets over them as soon as they are over.

There is just something about a handsome man with a smudge of dirt on his face... Apparently it is true in the canine world too. Nemo wears it well.
  • edited November -1
Nemo "the mighty Mouser" (lol)! So glad to hear he's out there enjoying life in spite of the siezure of a few days back! Doesn't hold him back, it seems! Love the pics... I am amazed at the power of those little noses to dig through the snow and earth and any other obstacle, no doubt, especially if there's something at the other end ...

Man, I'm sorry I missed this thread earlier. I'm sorry about Nemo :(

I love the dirt on his face though, so cute.
