You can submit photos and stories to Shiba World http://www.shibaworld.us/ Koshi and Harlow have both been in it and also a couple of articles I'd written. It's a Shiba publication by a long time Shiba breeder named Debbie Meador and it is a labor of love. It avoids all the political in fighting seen in many breed specific publications. It's purpose is to educate and entertain the world about the wonderful Shiba.
Dave - Whizzer is family for sure. You should see how excited he gets when we go over to their place to visit. He is always sad when we don't take him home with us.
Patty - Thanks for the tip about ShibaWorld. I'll have to think about sending something in to her.
Moxie is a cat. Her face is hard to see. You can see a bit of the white on her nose by the control for the electric blanket. The cats love the electric blanket, even when it is not plugged in.
Damn man, they destroyed the rope toy real fast didn't they? And you've got the carpet covered in pieces of rope to prove it! I like the one of Nemo on his back with Whizzer standing over him. Nice photos Brandon!
Dave - Whizzer's back jaws are the destroyers off all things rope, stuffy, cloth, plastic, whatever. It's like they have hydrolic pressure. Toys that are labeled "impossible to destroy" he has taken down in under 15 minutes, his dad timed him. The floor is always a mess when Whizzer is here. What's funny is that he only gets toys when Nemo allows it, Whiz is not much of an alpha. I like the picture of Whiz standing over Nemo too, sometimes Nemo plays beta, much like Ahi does.
Jen - Everyone loves the Whizz, seriously who wouldn't. He looks just like Toto and he is the sweetest.
I'm happy with a bunch of the pictures I got of Whizzer, his face his hard to photograph with all that long dark hair around his eyes and nose.
Whizz is so cute, they look like they have a great time... that's great. I love the pics too, as always!
That squeaky devil ball toy is the loudest squeaky toy we have ever given our dogs. Ahi would squeak it for hours and hours. She finally put a hole in it and now it makes more of a wheezing noise.
What a great time they're having!! So, does The Whizz do well with the Shiba rules of engagement? Has he always done it or did Nemo have to "teach" him?
Yes, the Bad Cuz toy can be incredibly loud. Nemo doesn't much like to squeak it though, he just wants to rip the squeaker out.
Whiz plays well with Nemo and the other Shibas. Terriers are tough little characters. He likes to play rough and tumble inside, but outside he doesn't like to play with Nemo. When they are outside, Nemo is too fast and agile for Whiz, his little legs just can't keep up, but inside with the floor wrestling type action, he goes crazy.
Whiz is kind of like Kona with a "bull in a china shop" attitude. He runs first and looks where he is running later. Earlier this week he plowed into my subwoofer and moved the whole thing about 3 inches. Then he just kept running for the rope. His head is like a rock.
Maybe I should get jake a wiz playmate, being hows I love terriers and all the doggie discussions make me want to live on a ranch with a hundred and one (no dalmations, pls).
Brandon, hope you are safely compiling all these photos for your new coffee table book with the cover being Nemo and Turi playing last winter.
I see you can make books on Shutterfly. However, I don't think anyone wants to spend $60 (minimum for a 12x12 book) on a book of photos of my dog and his friends. I don't even want to, and he's my dog.
I know - I did a graduation gift for my niece using snapfish. I first looked at doing the 12x12, but went down to the 8x8 - it was $25 for 20 pages, I added 10 more pages to bring it to a total of $35, plus s&h - she loved it, so I gues that's what matters.
Dave - No I was not being serious. Ha! I thought the ... would have given it away, next time I will use sarcasm tags. I've never submitted anything to a publisher for anything, I wouldn't even know where to start. Outside of a few dog related forums, not many people have seen my pictures.
Nemo just got his first bath in a long, long time. He behaved really well, only attempted to jump out of the tub once. He was rewarded with lots of treats, and a trip to the dog park at about 8:30 tonight. He is shedding a good deal, but it's hard to notice on him, no "molting" spots. You only notice when you pet him.
An easy bath is a good thing, when he was younger, bath time meant scrapes up and down my arms and back from his claws as he scrambled up my arms and over my shoulder and then tried to go down my back.
Awww. Good boy Nemo! I'm glad he behaved so well for you. I've been told that its a good idea to go through the actions of a bath without the soap on a regular basis to keep them accustomed to it. Sounds like Nemo isn't really in need of that. :-)

Here are a couple of pictures that Jennifer snapped this morning.
Nemo and Whiz are best buds, they take over the bed when she gets up to shower and get ready:
My grandma made that quilt. It's usually covered by a different comforter.
Whiz and Moxie sharing the couch:

I have some new pictures of Nemo and The Whiz. You can view 20 of them here:

If you click on the "medium" sized image there, you can get a big picture.
Here are five for your immediate gratification:

Publishers are fighting for the rights to my pictures as I type this...
