Kuma seems like he did really well at the show! Congrats!!! Lynx is growing up sooo fast! Is she considered a cat now or still a kitty :P. Great shots at your office...NICE OFFICE! I don't feel bad for you working 15 hour shifts anymore!
I think Lynx has to be considered a dog already, ;-P I think Corina will agree with me. Nyx is pushing her way to cathood, don't think she's a kitten anymore.
Even last Friday I stayed there until 5am, so a 20 hour work day. To top it off I got stopped by the police at a routine operation so I could do the breathalizer test for the first time ever.
Osy - Akita burps are really funny, LOL!
And Kuma has also matured a lot, and is confidence is still quite amazing. Sunday we went to the park, and we met this female GSD, Maggie. Kuma and Maggie got along very well form the start and got to play running around eacho ther. I have video of that I took with my cell phone because I forgot my camera and then decided not to come back up for it. Very big mistake as there was huge spam potential. Then, while they were playing, a St Bernard was passing with his people, and Kuma went right up to him to say "Hi" and started smelling the huge twice-his-weight St Bernard, being friendly but showing a huge amount of confidence. I was proud of him. Of course I went there to get him. While this happened, Maggie stayed behind barking at the St Bernard, visibly not as confident as Kuma.
Video of Kuma and Maggie will come later on, when I have the time to take it from the phone.
It might be Brandon. Well, it was created almost one year ago. I noticed that when I was editing the title to show the new spam date. On the 28th, this thread will be 1 year old. Kuma and Nyx on the 20th, heheheh
Dave, I was kidding about the 'mean' part. But, you know, I don't agree about the 'have nothing to do with dogs'. I simply admitted that I had no experience with them so I was out of my depth. Having said that, I did sometimes think that I wasn't the right person to have a dog before Kuma was house-broken. Those first weeks felt like hell, all I did was work (and that is stressful in itself because I travel around a lot) and come back home in my short breaks to mop and scoop and clean and take him out. We hardly slept, we hardly rested. I was at the end of tether! So, yes, puppies are cute and all but I like Kuma much, much better now. Actually, I think I have a doggie-crush on him. How can you help it, when he's always so happy to see me?
BTW, is there a limit on how long a thread should be?
Nat, I love how you've fallen for Kuma. I mean, I certainly don't blame you. I've got a little crush on him too and I've only seen his pictures, videos, and read some of your stories. I can't imagine what its like to live with the guy.
That video is great - it's fun to see him play with another dog. Seems like he did really well too!
I don't think there is a limit for the number of posts to a thread. I looked in the settings and didn't see anything. I could check the docs but I'm too lazy for that.
Nat, My husband had never owned a dog in his life before I talked him into it! He can't remember what it was like to be just a 'cat person' since now he has an incredible relationship with our male dog - they are inseparable buddies.
Ok, now we need more Kuma spam, because everyone DOES love Kuma!
Today has been rich in events and it's only 1:45pm :-)
On our morning walk, Kuma showed that he is maturing and that he's not feeling like letting other dogs do what they want. We met a Cocker Spaniel that was friendly at first and then jumped at Kuma, mouth open, and left a patch of wet fur. The cocker owner pulled him back at the same time as Kuma let out this deep, low growl. So, to me, that is a very tolerant behaviour but still making a good point to the other one. First reason to be proud.
We went to the vet for a vaccine and a full blood work. Everything is fine and Kuma was a champ through it all. Second (and third :-P) reason to be proud.
That's cool he is starting to show some maturity and seems to be well versed on K9 communication. I think a low growl was an appropriate response in that situation. Way to go Kuma!!!
Also, that video is super cute. It's great they still get along so well. You guys did a great job with them.
Love the Kuma/Nyx encounters! So fun to watch! And congrats on the good behavior from Kuma... Sounds like he's had great trainers! Advancing age on his part helps too!

Rui, that's great to hear that Kuma is doing so well. :-)
But you can get the idea of what was going on.
*sob*
Nat. That wasn't meant to be mean. That was meant to be endearing. :-/
I think this is the longest thread in the history of the board.

Kuma and Nyx on the 20th, heheheh
If I knew how to send pupcakes to you I would!

But it is a good question...Brad?

I, too, love Kuma & Nyx spam!

The video is SUPER cute. He's really maturing physically and it sounds like he's maturing mentally too. You should be proud of him on all fronts. :-)
That, and I LOVE watching Kuma and Nyx play! So fun.
